Zero-Clearance Kitchen Exhaust
The VaughanAir’s KEX is a pre-manufactured and non-combustible double wall kitchen exhaust system.
The KEX is the largest listed kitchen exhaust system in the industry. It is rated for 2-hours fire resistance with zero clearance to combustibles and it is compliant with International Mechanical Code (IMC), National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
The KEX system is listed to meet the requirements of ASTM E2336 and UL 1978, CAN/ULC S144 and CAN/ULC S662, as well as being listed for compliance to the International Code Council ICC-ES AC101.2 acceptance criteria for segmented grease systems.
By using companion flange connections, KEX eliminates the field welding required for contractor fabricated zero-clearance grease exhaust systems. Utilizing a rectangular footprint, the KEX system allows flexibility in the design of Type I and Type II commercial kitchen exhaust systems, enabling the designer to achieve the required airflows in shallower ceiling spaces.
